Fire line tracing & inspection path:
Forest fires are known for several undesirable impacts. Loss of biodiversity, increase in atmospheric pollution, change in nature of crops, adverse impact in the soil profit & its productivity, reduction in ecosystem services etc. In this context VSS people were constructed 2-meter-wide fire line over 400 mtrs/ha. long inside the treatment area & 4-meter-wide fire line long around the assigned area to protect forest blocks within their JFM area. In total 1661.73 km of fire line has been established around the assigned area inside the treatment in 88 VSSs during the financial year 2022-23.
