Different size Loose Boulder Check Dam(LBCD) and Concrete Check Dam had constructed in upland or downstream forest area to conserve the moisture and reduce the soil erosion of the JFM treatment area & enhance the growth of planted seedling as well as to improve overall water & moisture regimes of the concerned catchment area.
The major expected functions of staggered trench are to reduce runoff available rain from bald hills/barren hills in the forest area. It enhances ground water recharge for moisture retention and provide protective moisture retention in the forest area for plant growth. In this context staggered trenches of size (2m x 0.5m x 0.5m) are constructed inside the treatment area.
